Terrorist ring leader arrested by security forces

Security forces disbanded a back up terrorist network counting some 30 elements in the provinces of Medea and Ain Defla (70 KMs far from Algiers) following revelation made by an arrested terrorist few days ago who operating within the terrorist organization “ Sunni Group for Preaching and Combat” led by Leslous Madanni, known as “Assem”, corroborating sources revealed.

• The terrorists called Mohammed debar was born in 1975 started his armed activities in 1993 in the former Islamic Armed group (GIA) under the command of Atya Sayeh and then Abdelkader Saouane. The same sources revealed that he was in touch with one of the back up group members.

• Security forces were tracking his movements until his arrest in a possession of a firearm.

• To recall, military troops have carried out a large-scale combing operation across several terrorist strongholds in the province of Ain Defla following the revelations made by the arrested terrorist on their whereabouts.

• The total number of terrorists operating under the command of Leslous Madani doesn’t exceed 20 scattered through the region in small groups. Their activities retreated drastically over the last few years due to the surrender of a large number within the framework of the national peace and reconciliation process.
