A Major in the Algerian ANP troops from Bejaia was buried, following his assassination in a gruesome ambush by a terrorist group, as crowds gathered, including the authorities and security services, for the funeral of “the man who offered his life for serving his country”, say people who attended the funeral.

• Aouicha Fares was born in 1972, married and father of a two year baby girl, he joined the Algerian army at the age of eighteen, he loved his work and served his country, he worked in Algiers before being transferred to Boumerdes, east of Algiers, where he became Army Commander.
• He participated in several anti-terrorist combing operations, he was courageous.
• A terrorist group attacked him once he left his work, through exploding their car with a bomb, thus killing soldiers, and the suicide bomber who carried out the attack, our sources said that he belonged to the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat “GSPC” or “AQIM”.
