Terrorists poison security forces water

The so-called the Salafist group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC) led by Abdelmalek Droudkel nicknamed Abu Musab Abdelouadoud started poisoning drinking water stored in security forces’ tanks.

  • Security forces have information that Droudkel’s group is putting poison in drinking water tanks of military barracks in order to kill soldiers.
  • Instructions have been given to security forces to be vigilant to foil any criminal plan of the terrorist group.
  • Security observers believe that the Armed Islamic Group (GIA) used to poison the army’s drinking water in the province of Boumerdes (50 km east of Algiers). A terror support cell was then dismantled eastern Algiers.
  • Security forces would have detected this criminal plan due to intelligence work and the dismantling of many terror support cells newly created.
  • According to observers, this strategy reflects the failure of terrorists to target the army, the Gendarmerie and the Civil Protection by using hand-made bombs.
  • This comes following security coverage on terrorists’ main strongholds while the GSPC could not convince people supplying security forces with food to work with them.
  • Leading terrorist Moulai Abderrachid nicknamed Hudeifa Abu Younes ordered his followers to step up their acts. He planned to carry out suicide attacks in Algiers and “hit the Algerian people on the Independence Day (July 5th),” Echroouk has learnt.
  • The attackers are planning to use police and ambulance cars.
  • In the attack on a police station in Algiers, terrorists used a rubbish car.
  • Hudeifa would have urged his followers to leave Boumerdes and go to Algiers by train to flee security forces and contact terror support cells.
