The Algerians have 486 billion dinars in their postal accounts: Report
A report by the General directorate of Algeria’s Postal services which include 3.312 postal centers across Algeria shows that the accounts of Algerians contain 486 billion dinars distributed to current accounts of 11 million customers, 80% of whom are staff, retirees, Mudjahidine (war veterans), sons of martyrs, students and those who rightly receive national solidarity grants.

The report also shows that 315 million operations of payments in Algeria’s posts were carried out in 2008, and 7.2 million customers checked on their accounts via Algeria Post’s web site.

Over 9.1 million requests for getting new book checks were recorded in 2008, and the number of customers who have accounts belonging to the National Fund reached a total of 3.8 million..

The number of workers in Algeria’s postal services reaches 27.986, including 5% belonging to administrative personnel, 4% others are in exploitation departments, 71% are men and 29% are women.
