The Egyptian lawyers are plotting to keep the Arab Lawyers’ Union in Cairo

The Head of the Algerian Lawyers’ Union Abdelmadjid Sellini has staunchly reacted to the declaration made by the former representative of the Egyptian lawyers, who revealed the day before yesterday that M Sellini has agreed in a telephone conversation upon an attempt to ease tension between Algeria and Egypt in the wake of the burning of the Algerian flag by Egyptian lawyers.

• In a declaration to “Echourok” M Sellini said “ Be damned the one who said that, I’m not a traitor to join my hand to those who dared to burn a flag for which a million and half martyrs died “, indicating that the Egyptian lawyers are manoeuvring ahead of the upcoming Assembly of the Arab Lawyers Executive Board due to take place in Damascus, to avoid the debate over the Algerian and other Arab countries’ request to dislodge the Union’s premises from Cairo.

• M Sellini was outraged by the Egyptian lawyer’s allegations and expressed his utmost disgust to what he considered as pure lies and defamation repeating” I’m not a traitor who yields or negotiates with those who burnt the Algerian flag”.

• He went on saying that most of the Arab lawyers’ unions have expressed their total support to the Algerian counterpart and staunchly denounced the cowardly act perpetrated by Egyptian lawyers.
