The Greens Determined to Win in Banjul
Algerian national football squad are determined to start the road to South Africa’s CAN 2013 with a win away against Gambia, on Wednesday in Banjul the capital.
Wednesday’s clash against Gambia will be the first serious test to the Bosnian manager of the Greens, Vahid Halilhodzic, who is required to qualify to both CAN 2013 and the World Cup 2014 in Brazil. Coach Halilhodzic managed to collect three symbolic positive results, since he first took the reign of the squad, eight months ago, including an away 1-1 nil against Tanzania, and a win against Central Africa 2-0, but they were too later results, as the team was already disqualified from attending the CAN 2012. Mr Halilhodzic has also led Algeria to win against Tunisia in a friendly played in Algiers, later last year.
The Desert Warriors arrived Tuesday to Banjul on board of a direct flight from Paris, where they held a short training camp, ahead of Wednesday clash.
Some players are suffering exhaustiveness, and the medical stuff are working hard to help all of Karim Matmour, Riyad Boudebouz, Liassine Cadamurou and Sofiane Feghouli, to gain back their shape.
Yet, the Bosnian manager has vowed that he will play an all-out attack strategy against Gambia, in bid to return home with a win.
Observers say he is to task the attack mission to the midfielder of Spain’s Valencia, Sofiane Feghouli, Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt striker, Karim Matour, and the winger of the French Ligue 1 side Valenciennes, Fouad Kadir.
Probable starting XI:
Goalkeeper: Faouzi Chaouchi- Defense: Cadamurou, Bougherra, Anthar Yahia, Mesbah, Midfield: Lemouchia, Feghouli, Lacen- Attack: Kadir- Boudebouz- Matmour.
