-
The “Greens” and their coach Rabah Saâdane are intent on snatching the 3 points of victory during this decisive confrontation in order to boost Algeria’s chances to secure a berth in the second round of this major African tournament hosted by Angola.
-
Coach Saâdane has sensitized his players to the paramount importance of this first match versus Malawi stressing that the best result for the “Greens” would only be a clear victory.
-
A win over Malawi, said Saâdane, will bolster the morale of the Algerian players for the rest of the competition in expectation of the 2 other scheduled matches versus Mali and host country Angola.
-
The task of the “Greens” will however not be an easy one as all the national squads present during this African football tournament are solid line-ups who have greatly deserved their participation.
-
Informed sources say that Rabah Saâdane will surely make some strategic changes in the Algeria line-up particularly in the forward and defensive lines following the injuries sustained by Antar Yahia, Mourad Meghni and Rafik Saïfi.
-
The national coach is expected to opt for 4 defenders, 3 midfielders and 3 strikers.
-
Antar Yahia will be out for the first match versus Malawi while Meghni and Saïfi will be used as substitutes, if need be.
-
The forward line will most probably be made up of strikers Bezzaz, Ghezzal and Ziaya.
-
All in all, let’s hope that the “Greens” of Algeria will have the winds in their sails during this prestigious African competition.
