The Mediterranean Union to study Mediterranean projects in Paris
The Mediterranean Union will hold its first meeting, since the Israeli strikes against Gaza, today Thursday in Paris, to launch the development projects in the framework of the European Union, Gile Belican, responsible on the local development for the MU said.

According to the French official, the Ministerial meeting will discuss the issue of sustainable development in the MU as well as the ways to realize the promises which were launched in the framework of the project proposed by the French president Nickolas Sarkozy before a year, particularly as it is related to the southern region which remains in urgent need for more efforts.

The French official in charge of the MU local development said there is the project about the visual lines that link Africa and the old continent, and the gas pipeline which crosses the desert to link Lagos and Europe via Algeria, a project that would allow the storage of the Nigerian gas in the old Algerian gas fields, as well as the road to link the Senegalese capital Dakar with Algeria and Casablanca in Morocco, and another road linking Africa with Europe.
