The NTC Gets Revenge On Algeria By Imposing Visa On Its Nationals
The Libyan National Transitional Council (CNT) has ordered border guard department to put Algeria in the list of countries that Libya would start requiring on their nationals a visa entry.
Well informed sources told Echorouk reporter that the CNT has started drawing up a list of countries which will be required visa, saying the list includes countries like Algeria, Mauritania, Egypt and Syria.
Tunisia is an exception in this unilateral procedure, the sources added, noting that Tunisians are used to enter Libya without visa, so far.
Observers said imposing visa entry on Algerian nationals could be understood as a revenge act of the NTC against the North African state which rejected the military intervention of the NATO in Libya.
Yet, observers said NTC should not include Egypt, which opened its border to evacuate and offer medical treatment for wounded Libyans and those who fled the war.
By doing so, the NTC senior officials are committing big mistakes which certainly would affect relations with neighboring countries, observers said.
However, it is worth to mention that personalities which called for mending the fractured relations with neighbors have been marginalized by the NTC, and consequently put at stake the future of Libyan relations with the Maghreb and Arab neighbors.
