The truth behind Maryam and Wael’s concerts in Syria
The fans in Syria were waiting to attend a concert featuring the beloved Lebanese artists Maryam Fares and Wael Kfoury, scheduled to take place at the Sheraton Hotel in Damascus.
-
However, Maryam refused to sing even though she was at the concert. Maryam’s manager Wisam Shartoni went up on stage and told everyone that Mariam will not be singing because she was not fully paid.
- According to the London daily Elaph, Shartoni said the concert planner agreed to pay for Mryiam’s expenses in three payments, one at the signing of the contract, the second two weeks before the concert and the last on the day of the concert. He said that the concert planner did not pay the second payment, and so Maryam refused to sing.
-
Shartoni also mentioned that the promotional pictures of Maryam at the concert site were smaller than Wael Kfoury’s. Maryam has been singing with Khoury for the past three years and the pictures for both artists were always the same size, but not this time, he said.
- On the other hand, Kfoury was satisfied with the concert organization and said that he was fully paid for all his expenses.
