These are the consequences of the termination of the contract between El Khabar and Rebrab

The decision to freeze the deal of conceding El Khabar’s shares to businessman Yessad Rabrab will come into force once all the concerned parts are informed. It will freeze the contract and the mission of the new chairman of the board of directors, according to lawyers.

Nadjim Bitam, a lawyer at the communication ministry told Echorouk all the justifications were presented to the court. “The contract between El Khabar group and Rebrab will be temporarily frozen until a final decision is issued.”

“The last session will be held before July 15th to decide in the lawsuit filed by the communication ministry against El Khabar group. It is the ban of a deal to concede shares for Rebrab,” he added.

Accredited lawyer at the Supreme Court Ibrahim Bahlouli said the decision to freeze the deal will prevent Rebrab from treating El Khabar as its official owner. El Khabar will respect its old system while its new board of directors is frozen. 

“Deadlines are still open for El Khabar to appeal at the Council of the State. Yet, this will not stop the decision,” he added.

El Khabar’s lawyer Khaled Borghel said the decision was not expected but it is temporarily and it is difficult to implement it.

“The transfer of property was conducted by virtue of an official contract. It was published in advertisements and due taxes were paid. The court bailiff will find a difficulty in implementing the decision although it is applicable. The law was not properly implemented and the administrative court was not competent in such a lawsuit,” he added.
