This Is How “Total” Company Has Been Trying To Control 30 Percent Of Algeria’s Oil

While Algeria is at loggerheads with France’s Total energy company for its projected acquisition of Anadarko’s assets in Algeria, European MP Eva Jolie has completed an investigation into corruption in France, with on focus secrets that would strengthen the Algerian side’s fears that Total’s acquisition would lead to the taking over of 30 percent of Algerian oil.
The European Parliament of the Green Block, and in the midst of its investigation into the activities of some oil companies, including the fuel company Elf, has been able to unveil some of the secrets linking France and some dictatorships in Africa, such as Gabon, which is viewed as the rear base of French intelligence in the continent.
According to the conclusion of the French MP in the European Parliament on the shady activities of “Total”, the latter “is a state within a state, led by Pierre Guillaume, a former French defense minister, former French intelligence official, as well as being responsible for the French nuclear program previously, adding that he’s a servant of the French geopolitical interests,” wrote parliamentary analyst Eva Jolie.
For Eva Jolie, who is of Norwegian descent, the latter country (Norway) has used its oil revenues to pay retirees’ pensions in the future, while France has used Total company as a tool to bolster its strength,” she said.
The parliamentary investigator linked the areas of Total’s presence with the conflicts in these regions, and set an example in West Africa, and specifically in the Gulf of Guinea, which is dominated by countries such as Nigeria, the Congo Brazzaville and Angola, oil countries that suffer from chronic crises as civil disobedience and lingering disputes that have undermined their internal stability.
“All these countries have known civil wars and dictatorships,” wrote Eva Jolie, commenting on the situation in the Gulf of Guinea.
“Behind all this is the covert French hand,” argued Eva Jolie, who explained that “the values that France is trying to establish in Africa are quite far from far from those values that France believes in and works to consolidate in other parts of the world, taking advantage of the nefarious collusion of the West”, she added.
