This is why Air Algerie issued a release about Shengen visa
Security conditions and recent bombings in Brussels put pressure on the European Union to oblige countries including Algeria to reactivate the necessity of entering the Schengen visa delivering countries.
According to officials at the transport ministry, Air Algerie issued a controversial release. It says its clients should choose the country which delivers the visa as their first destination. This decision came following letters from Brussels which insisted on the European Union and international aviation to reactivate Article 5 of Law No 810/2009 of European Parliament.
The same sources told Echorouk Brussels’ attitude is justified by the recent attacks on its airport.
Earlier, Air Algerie issued a release, saying it received instructions from DACM to inform passengers about provisions in Article 5 of Law No 810/2009 of European Parliament. It stipulates that the State member of the European Union should be the first destination.
Air Algeria said people who have Shengen visa have to travel to the visa delivering country for the first time to avoid any disturbance.
