Top religious figure denied entry to Algeria

The religious scholar Abu Ishhak Alhouini has called off his visit to Algeria at the last moment although all the procedures were completed to facilitate his leave from the Egyptian soil.

• Chikh Abu Ishak has received an invitation from “Al Bachair “religious Association on –the seventh day of Ramadhan and replied positively the very next day to fix his arrival date to the second week of the holy month which means yesterday Friday.
• The association has prepared a full program pending the arrival of Abu Ishak including the booking of the Olympic dome, which was designed to host one of his seminars, as well as permissions from the religious ministry I order to give a series of lectures in a various mosques.
• But a zealous official at the same ministry opposed the initiative and denied permission to one of the most respected religious figure in the Islamic world to preach in a mosque located in Algiers.
• Meanwhile, the scholar received various mails and phone calls warning him not to move to Algeria for various reasons including the one that the association which invited him was not following “Salafit” principles, and that the major Koran meeting in which he was supposed to take part would be attended by “Suffi” groups.
• In a series of telephone calls with the organizer of his visit to Algeria, Abu Ishak was always asking for the detailed program but he couldn’t have a precise one, forcing him to lose his temper and making such a declaration “How can I travel to Algeria within hours while I don’t have a single idea about the program, which makes me fear this visit”.
• In view of these problems, the scholar has reconsidered his decision and resorted to cancel his travel to Algeria.
