Taking the floor at a press conference held in Algiers , a senior police officer reviewed on this occasion the string of measures enforced by the relevant authorities as part of an action plan aimed at eradicating the unlawful or anarchical construction of housing units and trading shops across the capital Algiers .

He underlined that in case these kind of makeshift constructions were to be set up, they would be immediately razed to the ground and the offenders swiftly brought to justice.

He also announced that several training sessions were being scheduled for the benefit of elements of the town planning police department in the course of this year in a bid to keep them in tune with the latest laws and regulations concerning new town planning concepts in force in Algeria and elsewhere in the world.
