Trade Ministry recruits 1500 control agents to combat fraud during Ramadan
The Algerian Trade Ministry deployed 1500 control agents in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan, in order to protect the consumers from the vagaries of the market, as well as the greed of some traders and to control the extent to which the supply of goods matches with the conditions of hygiene following the new instructions by the law of consumers’ protection and suppression of fraud recently, which coincides with the beginning of an awareness campaign by the organization of protecting the consumer and combating fraud.

Trade Ministry plans to intensify surveillance operations during Ramadan in a manner that put an end to speculation on prices, particularly those attached to the basic products which notice a rise every Ramadan, as well as taking preventive action against any trader who violates the laws through sanctions of imprisonment and fines that may up to 500.000 dinars in case of law violation.

Coordination between the customs and the trade ministry to control the border areas and inspect all the goods that are imported from abroad will be deployed as well during Ramadan, a month that is characterized by a particular diet pattern, where people accept all what is presented by the shops and the different commercials spaces, without heed to the sources of manufacture or the nature of composition.

The same sources said the trade ministry will be announce a number of other actions during a press conference by the minister soon, in order to help the ordinary citizens and protect him from the crazy rise in the price of products during this holy month.
