Two Algerians still unaccounted for in strife-torn Libyan city of Zaoura

Echorouk has learnt from well informed sources that two Algerians have been reported missing over the past 48 hours in the strife-torn Libyan city of Zaoura not far from the Algerian-Libyan border.

  • The two Algerians aged respectively 28 and 30 have settled for several years in the Libyan city of Zaoura and hail from the city of Oued Souf in south-eastern Algeria.

  •
  •
  • There has been so far no indication as to their exact whereabouts over the past two days in the city of Zaoura which is reportedly the scene of violent clashes between Libyan protesters and savage armed mercenaries paid by the beleaguered Gaddafi regime to quell the pro-democracy popular uprising now jolting most parts of Libya including the capital Tripoli.

  •
  •
  • The families of the two missing Algerians are deeply worried about the fate of their sons, fearing that they might have fallen victim to the savage onslaught unleashed by Gaddafi’s brutal mercenaries in the strife-torn city.
