Two Moroccans and an Algerian to get 12 years prison for drug trafficking

Four accused on charges of drugs trade appeared Tuesday before Algiers criminal court, after being arrested by the security services following the attempt to smuggle 32 kg of cannabis inside a car with forged documents, trying to take it to Marseille through the port of Algiers, where the services of the Algerian customs foiled their plot.

  • The four Algerians “H.S” from Ain Mlila, east of Algeria, a keys maker, “CH.M” clothing trader, and “KH.B” trader from Batna, east of Algeria, all appear before the criminal court of Algiers.
  • According to their judicial file the driver of the car filled with drugs, recognised that he knew the accused “CH.M” nicknamed Belhadj Kamel, and he asked him to take the Golf car which they bought from someone in Algiers in order to take it to a resident in Marseille “Fouad.
  • Stressing that El Hadj Malek is the one who forged documents of a car and put it on his name, in return of receiving 20.000 dinars on January 14, 2008.
  • In the same context, Algiers criminal court convicted three immigrants, two Moroccan and one Algerian, with penalties between 7 and 14 years in prison, after arresting them with 74 kg of drugs.
