Two party leaders boycotted swearing-in ceremony as a sign of protest.
Workers' party leader, Louiza Hanoune
A prominent member in the Algerian workers'party, Ramdane Taazibt, has declared that the absence of his party leader, Louiza Hanoune, at the swearing-in ceremony made by re-elected president Abdelaziz Bouteflika, is a protest against what he called the “electoral fraud” that characterized the presidential election announcing a new political initiative that aims to ground democracy and cut the ties with the single party era.
-
The decision, he added, was taken immediately after the announcement of the elections’ results and during a meeting of the party’s central committee last week.

-
The labor party considers that his discontent was legitimate and shared by all his militants alongside a large number of citizens who got in touch with its officials immediately after the release of the elections’ outcome.
-
-
The same source went on saying that some irregularities witnessed in various provinces across the country during the elections, forced the party leader, Louiza Hanoun , in an unprecedented move, to boycott the oath ceremony that officially claimed Abdelaziz Bouteflika president for a third mandate.
-
-
Ramdane Taazibt considers that nobody can give the exact participation’s rate of the presidential elections neither the candidates’ scores because of “ the overall electoral fraud” adding that this will not shift the party’s positions which relentlessly militates to sort out solutions to the prevailing crisis in the country.
-
-
The party calls for a new constitutional council and the destitution of the parliament.
-
-
For his part, the 54 oath party national secretary in charge of communication, Aissa Belmeki sees in his party’s leader Fouzi Rabaine’s boycott to the ceremony a protest against the elections’ results qualifying this ceremony as “non event”.
-
-
The party considers that his participation in the ceremony will contribute to legitimize the outcome knowing that “54 oath party” hold the last position in the presidential race.
