Two young men put in prison for having insulted the president

The public prosecutor of the province of Mascara , western Algeria, has ordered provisional custody for two young men on charges of assault against security forces and offence to the president of the republic.

The two wrongdoers (23) and (25) who were drunk were wandering in the city center of “Mohammadia” on their possession blades at around 2 am disrupting the quietness of the neighbourhood and insulting the president of the republic, the Algerian authorities and glorifying the French state..

On their arrival at the scene of the events, police officers were assaulted with stones, threatened with daggers and insulted by the drunken two young men. After being put out of order, they were busted and brought before the public prosecutor, who ordered a provisional custody pending their trial.

This is the third case of its kind in a month that youngsters clash with security forces in this town using veil words after, the skirmishes that broke out with a group of young men who threw stones against the policemen and shattered their car.

Another tragic event was registered in the same locality when clashes broke out between two groups of youngsters, causing several injuries and the arrest of nine people including a girl.
