Well-informed sources told Echorouk that the combined security services in close coordination with the National Popular Army (ANP) have recently spotted through monitored communications the infiltration of a dangerous terrorist into the capital intent on carrying out a suicide bomb attack targeting foreign diplomatic representations and western figures in Algiers.

According to our sources, the terrorist named “Amor Mohamed” born in 1960 in the eastern city of Djelfa and his henchman “S.R” who belongs to the terrorist AQIM group led by Chieftain Abdelmalek Droudkel, sneaked into the city of Algiers coming from Mount Bokhil in the Djelfa region.

Security investigations pinpointed his secret whereabouts by late February in the suburban locality of Aïn Taya and the criminal plot was initially set to be carried out by these terrorists on February 22th somewhere in Algiers.

But, this criminal attack was scrapped on account of its prior detection by the security services which beefed up as a result surveillance and control measures in various parts of the capital Algiers.

The same sources added that this wanted terrorist, who was charged by his henchmen with perpetrating the projected suicide bombing in Algiers, was now being actively tracked down by the relevant anti-terrorism security units as part of regular and thorough searches across the capital Algiers and all its suburban districts.
