Verbal violence in Algerian society is unbearable, says minister
Algerian justice minister Tayeb Louh Monday expressed disatisfaction over verbal violence propagation in society. The number of cases in court in this regard reached 2,000 in 2015.
The minister stressed the necessity of releasing ethics nomenclature in many sectors including media.
He added that insult and defamation-related cases have become “unbearable” as they touch all the categories of people in society.
Louh defended laws promulgated by his ministry as they are always criticized at Parliament due their ambiguity.
“Laws legislation is examined and adapted to international legislations. Reforms and modernization should be conducted in justice sector so that justice will be independent,” he said.
