Vincenzo Nesci: “Sawiris Page Was Permanently Folded Since 2012”
Since April 2012, Djezzy has no longer meant anything to Naguib Sawiris, Vincenzo Nesci said.
“Sawiris page was finalized since that date”, he added.
In an interview with Echorouk on the sidelines of the launch of his new show “Bayna”, Nesci said that he read like everyone that there was an initiative by Sawiris to challenge him, asserting that he did not understand where and against any body Sawiris presented the objection on the international arbitration’s decision.
“It may be related to the appeal in the vacuums that are included in the form, but what related to the subject was the decision of international arbitration. These maneuvers and decisions to continue attacking the Algerian government does not mean Djezzy at all, and it means the Algerian government, and all the shares of Sawiris in the complex Vimpelcom (VEO currently) were resold to Vimpelcom itself since years”.
“Frankly, since April 2012, it no longer means anything to Sawiris and has nothing to do with him”.
“So these maneuvers and decisions to continue attacking the Algerian government do not mean Djezzy at all, but they mean the Algerian government, not Djezzy” .
“The page of Sawiris was folded since April 2012 and until January 2015 the stage was harsh and long and difficult”, he added.
Vincenzo Nesci asserted that Sawiris did will not affect Djezzy in any way.
“This does not scare Djzzy at all, because the agent is an Algerian company, and the investment fund is its partner by 51%. We are working well and it supports us in the relationship with the rest of the Algerian authorities”.
Previously, the Algerian news agency APS reported a few days before the announcement of a World Bank arbitration body that Orascom Telecom, owned by Egyptian Naguib Sawiris, filed a new appeal in a ruling issued months ago to reject a claim of $ 4 billion, allegedly claiming that a campaign was launched to destroy the branch of his company in Algeria in 2008.
Naguib Sawiris’s appeal came against a June ruling after losing the case against the Algerian government, after buying Orascom Telecom’s shares in Djezzy in 2015.
