Washington supports Algeria in its efforts to face oil crisis

Deputy Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken said his country supports Algeria in its efforts to diversify its economy. Partnership is becoming deeper in different fields.

Blinken told Algeria News Agency (APS) that Algeria’s endeavour to diversify it economy is a right decision even if it is a difficult challenge.

“We support this endeavour to support the Algerian economy,” he said.

He believes that the absence of diversity “makes things difficult for a country which wants to be economically successful. 

“We will continue working together to develop renewable energies. Algeria made a real progress,” he added.

He also said that the Algerian government should take other initiatives to make business climate more attractive to achieve more foreign investments.

He hailed Algeria’s efforts in resorting peace and security in the region, saying that its leadership to reach peace in Libya, Mali and Syria is very important.
