Wealthy people compete with poor to benefit from the state’s help

Through batteries of measures aiming at sustaining prices, the government tries against all odds to protect the deprived social classes especially in the eve of the new academic year.

  •
  • Thousands of families have to think twice and dig deep in their pockets, already exhausted by the holy month of Ramdhan, in order to face their children’s demands. This operation requires an additional burden for the majority of the parents.
  •
  • If some privileged do not feel concerned by the event, most of the families have to rely on the “Welfare state” to share with them the burden. In this respect, billions are spent each year by the treasury to help those who live in precarious conditions and guarantee their children their right for learning.
  •
  • Though the Algerian authorities boast free educational system, reality contradicts the political discourse since the average fee amount to 7000 Algerian Dinars per student, while the government allocates 3000 Algerian Dinars per child, decided by the president Abdelaziz Bouteflika in 2007 while in the past it was 2000 Algerian Dinars.
  •
  • The Algerian authorities have to face another problem concerning a lot of parasites who take advantage of the foggy situation which surrounds this operation, to add their names on the lists in order to benefit from this aid, while hundreds of needy people are counted out.
