Women reveal being sexually harassed by their male colleagues at work
In the wake of the sadly known “Black decade†period in Algeria, several economic firms and other private companies resorted to hire peacekeeping agencies to guarantee their safety. But most of their employees are young and inexperienced in addition to the fact that the staffs include women whose neither their physical appearances, nor their womanhood make them fit for the job, so how do they manage to fill their duty?

Dalila one sample among many in her case is 20 and work as a security guard at a university campus, the tiny and frail lady started working there two years ago and is on duty either the day or the night according to the timetable. She declared being uncomfortable with the fact that she has to share the same locker room with her male colleagues.

She confessed apprehending the night shift because she has to protect herself from her male colleagues’ sexual harassments instead of focusing on her original task which consists in patrolling around the different campus’ wings, arguing that the Algerian society is rather conservative and full of prejudices.

Her friend, Saida, acknowledged that she faced sexual harassments but kept mum, resorting to team up with a woman colleague and the high price of keeping awake all night while, her fellow men guards sleep leaving them carrying their duty alone to punish them for not yielding to their basic instincts.

Amazingly enough, some of them hold high degrees, but resorted to do this job because they didn’t find opportunities elsewhere; forcing one of them to admit that this is not job is not fit for a woman at least in our backward society.
