Workers of Algiers port protest against Dubai Ports World’s working program
Hundreds of workers in Algiers port went Saturday on strike protesting against the program of their work which was imposed by their company “Dubai Ports Worldâ€.

Over 654 workers managed to stop the activity of the containers in Algiers commercial port which lost more than a hundred million dinars.

The workers decided to go on strike after the transfer of 400 workers to the unit of containers and after the company decided to launch the new containers ‘ unit without giving them the choice and change their program.

The workers were waiting for the promises by the general directorate of Algiers port which said it will grant 6550 dinars per worker who will work in the night. They were surprised when the company doubled the timing of the work from 7 am to 1 pm and from 1 am to 7 am, and the workers were divided to 3 groups which work day and night. The workers said; “We are not machines to work day and night without money”.
