The World Bank’s vice president Hafez Ghanem advised Algeria to follow Poland, Kazakhstan and Vietnam’s experience to develop its economy.

The World Bank said in a release that Ghanem is on a three-day-visit to Algiers to reinforce partnership relations.

“We worked on reform programs with many countries such as Poland, Kazakhstan and Vietnam. We want to learn from those world experiences to support Algeria’s plans for sustainable development,” said the Bank citing its Vice-president.

“In the last five fifteen years, Algeria managed to reduce poverty average to 7 percent from 20 percent. This is a big achievement. The challenge now is to have a more productive and innovative society,” he added.

The World Bank’s delegation will hold meetings with Algeria’s Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal and many ministers.
