World Cup 2010: The upcoming Algeria-Zambia qualifier will take place at Blida stadium
M.Raouraoua.
The President of the Algerian Football Federation – FAF – Mohamed Raouraoua has decided in concertation with national team coach Rabah Saâdane to program the next world cup qualifier between Algeria and Zambia at the Tchaker stadium of Blida on September 6th 2009.
-
This match was initially slated to be played at the 5th of July Olympic stadium of Algiers but after the recent International friendly game which opposed Algeria and Uruguay on August 12th, the Algerian players affirmed that the pitch of the 5th of July stadium is not up to the mark despite its latest renovation.
-
As a result, national squad coach Rabah Saâdane called on the FAF chairman to change the venue of the Algeria – Zambia qualifier and opt instead for the Tchaker stadium of Blida whose pitch is quite better and tallies with international norms.
-
Mohamed Raouraoua has already informed the FIFA of this change of venue and enjoined the managers of the Blida stadium to see to it that the pitch remains in a good state in expectation of the Algeria – Zambia world cup qualifier.
-
Moreover, the FAF Federation has decided to reduce from 1000 to 500 dinars the price of the entrance tickets for the Algeria – Zambia match in Blida in a bid to attract the maximum supporters and thereby to bolster the chances of success of the Algerian national squad versus the Zambian team on September 6th 2009.
