The Algeria football line-up tied nil –all ( 0-0) Saturday in a first-leg qualifier in Kigali versus Rwanda as part of the second phase of the combined qualifications to the 2010 World cup and Africa cup of Nations competition. 

• On the whole, the “Fennecs” made a praiseworthy performance on the pitch of the Kigali stadium, by notably missing several golden opportunities to score a goal in the first-half of the game.
• The second half was more balanced but with a slight ascendancy for the Rwandan players who failed to score several times owing to the watchfulness of a potent Algerian defense line.

• The Rwandans, who have yet to qualify for the global showpiece, were hoping to take an early advantage in what is a very tough group, also comprising Egypt and Zambia.
• However, the Algerians, who were favourites for the encounter held on for a vital away point in expectation of their next decisive home match versus the indomitable squad of Egypt.
