World Health Organization warns Algeria against swine flu
Algeria has been officially warned by the World Health Organization against the outbreak of another H1N1 pandemic during the period of January and February much severe that the previous one, reliable sources from Pasteur institute have revealed.

The WHO has based its alert on the graphics of the virus development in Algeria including the rise of the H1N1 cases during the first week of January in comparison to the same period in November and December.

Some 170 thousand cases of H1N1 have been registered so far, helped by the prevailing weather conditions in the region. The virus is easily transmitted and robust when it moves through the air especially in cold temperatures.

The WHO predicts an important rise of H1N1 cases in the North Africa during this period, forcing the health ministries and other institutions in the concerned countries to stiffen measures in order to face the pandemic and limit its expansion.
