Zerguine: “Sonatrach does not suffer from problems in Gas marketing”

Sonatrach has never faced problems in gas marketing at the level of the markets where it is active, General Manager of Sonatrach, Abdelhamid Zerguine said on Monday.
Zarguine added in a statement to the press on the sidelines of a meeting that was organized on the Fourth Tender about the opportunities to search for hydrocarbons and exploitation; “No decrease in the volume of exported gas in spite of the crisis in Europe, and if we record any decrease, this is not a mutual agreement between Sonatrach and its partners.”
“We never had gas that remained without selling, even if Sonatrach is forced to reduce its exports to Europe, the amounts that are withdrawn from this market can be marketed in Asia at high prices by 50%.
Regarding the restart of the third production unit of the gas company in Tiguentourine, which was targeted by a terrorist attack in January 2013, the spokesman said that this unit is supposed to begin work in the next few months.
“The company is currently working normally with two units of the total three units , as we were also able to rectify the quantities that produced before the attack .”
With regard to the return of foreign partners, the spokesman said that Sonatrach, “Is carrying talks with these partners, who ask for new facilities”.
