Ziani in the pole position for the most popular Arab player‘s trophy

The Emirates sport magazine “Super” specialized in football has announced on its online version the launching of “Super” award with a new look entitled “The most popular Arab player”.

• The list of the short- listed players includes the name of the Algerian midfielder and German club “Wolfsburg” Karim Ziani who remains the favourite among the other players considering his status as the most popular Arab player in Europe, Africa and the Arab world.
•  The big performances of the Algeria squad during the qualifiers to the world Cup and the player’s with his German club boosted Ziani’s chances to get the award.
• In addition to Karim Ziani and the Egyptian Abu Trika, the list of the 18 Arab players who will compete for the trophy includes:  Aymen Chermiti (Tunisia), Hichem Boucherouane (Morocco), Tarek Tayeb (Libya) ,Haythem Mustapha (Sudan), Fahd Atel ( Palestine) Mohammed Nour (Saudi Arabia), Ferass Al Khatib (Syria), Younes Mohammed (Irak), Ali Al Hebssi (Oman Sultanate), Mohammed Ghodar (Lebanon), Abdellah Dib ( Jordan), Ismael Mater (Emirates), Mahmoud Abderrehman Ringo (Bahrein), Badr Al Moutaouie ( Kuwait), Ali Nounou ( Yemen), Sebastian Sorya ( Syria).
• However, the magazine considers that the competition will be tough between Karim Ziani and Abu Trika, though the Algerian player’s chances are bigger especially that his popularity transcended the European borders these last few years.
• Fans around the world will cast their vote on the magazine’s website or through SMS to choose their favourite awaiting the announcement of outcome and the distribution of the trophies during a ceremony at the magazine’s premises in the United Arab Emirates next month.
