Zitouni: “The harkis Betrayed Their Homeland And History Has Judged Them”
The harkis’ file is sealed, according to the Minister of Moujahidine or war veterans Tayeb Zitouni.
Indeed, the Minister through this clear-cut statement tends to cut off the way to those people trying to rehabilitate them and forget the horrendous misdeeds committed against their country and people they have betrayed shamelessly.
Furthermore, in a statement to APS on the eve of the 54th anniversary of Independence and Youth Day, the Minister of Moujahidine said that Algeria has recovered only 2% of its owned archives from France and the establishment of natural relations between the latter and Algeria through the missing file of those people still reported missing, the return of the national archives held in France, in addition to compensations for victims of French nuclear tests conducted in the Sahara and recognition by France of its heinous crimes perpetrated during the colonization period in Algeria.
About the missing, Mr Taueb Zitouni underlined that “commissions comprising representatives of various ministries concerned with the issue of missing Algerians during the colonial period are endeavoring to prepare records related to negotiations begun for some time and which have resulted in the census of around 2,000 cases of disappearances.”
