Mohand Cherif Hannachi, President of the Youth Sports Association of Kabylie (JSK), was removed from his post at the General Assembly’s meeting held by the shareholders of the board of directors (CA) on Monday (August 07th 2017) at the headquarters of the club in Tizi Ouzou city (eastern Algeria).

The meeting took place in the absence of controversial president Hannachi, who is now spending his holidays in Morocco.

At the head of the JSK since 1993, Hannachi has seen its popularity drop sharply in recent years and the list of his vehement critics (former players, supporters ...) continues to grow by leaps and bounds from day to day.

As a recall, thousands of fans of the Green and Yellow Jersey (JSK Club) have organized several protest actions and marches to demand the departure of Mohand Hannachi who has remained virtually a quarter century at the helm of the most-titled club in Algeria.

Several shareholders were unanimous in saying that the club is in a situation that requires more than ever the taking of a historic decision notably by ousting Mohand Cherif Hannachi.

Concerned about the JSK's ongoing chaotic situation, the shareholders ended up withdrawing confidence in Hannachi and opening the club's capital to new shareholders, including major industrialist Lakhdar Medjane who promised to put the JSK back on track. He added that other shareholders wanted to buy shares of the club.

Pending the opening of the club's capital in September 2017, Mr AZLAF Malik will have the task of running the managerial "board" which will run the club's day-to- day affairs during this transition period.
