1.5 million foreigners entered Algeria in 2010
The number of foreigners who entered Algeria increased by 140,000 in 2010 compared to 1.5 million in 2009, according to national security statistics.
- A security official says the figures denied experts’ expectation of a possible decrease in the number of foreigners who enter Algeria.
- According to the same statistics, more than 300,000 foreigners entered the country by land while 200,000 entered by sea. The number of the foreigners who entered Algeria by air was estimated at 400,000. A total of 900,000 foreigners entered the county as part of tourism, working or living.
- The number of foreigners who left Algeria was estimated at 83,000. Of them, 31,000 left by land, 24,000 by sea and 52,000 by air.
