2010-2011 school year : Over 8 million pupils head for schools in Algeria
Over eight million pupils are expected to head for schools here on Monday 13 September, marking the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, with a 2.71 percent increase compared to last year in the three educational levels.

“A total of 8, 176,700 pupils are expected for the new school year, including 3, 848,000 in primary, 3,097,000 in intermediate and 1,231,000 in the secondary schools.

The sector recorded and overall increase of 215,977 compared to last year, i.e. +2.71 percent in all educational levels,” said Sunday the Ministry of National Education.

These pupils will be supervised by 377,980 teachers, in addition to 219,035 posts for administration and maintenance employees.
