2010 African Cup: Algeria 0-1 Nigeria
Algeria lost third place at the African Cup of Nations after a 1-0 defeat to fellow World Cup qualifier Nigeria on Saturday.
- The Desert Foxes played a good first leg before Nsofor had scored the unique goal in the 55th minute. They pushed for an equaliser in the last 20 minutes.
- Earlier on Thursday, the Algerian players lost their semi-final match 4-0 against Egypt in which Benin referee showed a red card to Algeria’s two defenders and coach.
- Algeria will be the only Arab representative in the 2010 World Cup. It will head for South Africa to face the United States, Slovenia and England.
