21 thousand new teachers to be recruited on merit next June

The government is set to open on merit 21129 job opportunities in sectors of teaching as by later June, to guarantee a better school year 2011/2012.

• Discussions held by Civil Service Department’s General Director, Belkacem Bouchmel, with officials at the Ministry of Finance concluded to the creation of more than 21 thousands new jobs in schools and universities.
• The government has reserved a budget of 744 billion dinars to guarantee the payment of the wages of the new recruits.
• Well informed sources said the lion share of the new job posts are to be created in the education sector, with 13429 posts, while the sector of higher education and scientific research will benefit of 5000 new posts, and 2700 posts in the sector of professional training.
• A national competition on merit is to be organized next June to select the 21129 teachers who are to be offered jobs next year.
