27 illegal immigrants arrested in eastern Algeria

Coast guards caught 27 men Friday trying to smuggle themselves to Italy from the province of Annaba (east of Algiers) on boat, Echorouk has learnt.

  The family of an illegal immigrant notified marine regional command in Annaba about the attempt. The men were supposed to embark on two wooden boats at around 10 pm. Of them, there were three minors aged under 16 coming from the provinces of Annaba and Taref.

   

  The illegal immigrants were arrested by coast guards after they had been shaken by waves. They are expected to appear in court in Annaba.
