Placed in the second group, Algeria is listed among the countries most used to the heinous propaganda machine spearheaded by “Daesh” terrorist organization meant to attract more followers and promote its nefarious work and bloody achievements through manifold social media outlets.

It got together with Egypt, Yemen, Jordan and Morocco, according to a new British research study.

The study, published in London by the London-based Policy X-Chaining, the New Netwar, said Turkey, the United States, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Britain were among the biggest consumers of the destabilizing propaganda produced by so-called “preachers” and terrorist groups.

According to the 130-page fact-finding report, the researchers, led by Martin Frampton of Queen Mary University in London, cautioned that talking about the decline of terrorist groups in the virtual world is “greatly exaggerated” and pointed out that the survey they conducted during the period from 19 February to 3 May 2017, revealed that tens of thousands of users on the Internet consume the terrorist group’s contents through the platforms “Facebook” and “Twitter”.

The report added that “Daesh” terror group produces more than 100 articles and a new video every week, and is shared in the world through a very sophisticated technology.

As for the number of Internet users during the period under review, Turkey recorded 16,810 clicks, America 10,388, Saudi 10,239, Iraq 8,138, Britain 6,107, Egypt 5,410, Yemen 4,364, Algeria 3,878, Jordan 3,770, Morocco 3,638.

The same report showed that the most popular platform, where the contents of the electronic-purported so-called “Jihad” is found on the site of “Twitter” by a rate of 40 percent, followed by encrypted messages and “Facebook,” as reported by many media outlets.
