561 thousand jobs created in public works, minister says
Skeaking on the side lines of his visit to Guelma, eastern Algeria, the public works minister Amar Ghoul has indicated that the major projects that were achieved countrywide in a record time require a continuous maintenance operations.
- To undertake these operations some 500 maintenance units are needed across the country. They will be in charge of the manitenance of roads and related facilities
- The minister has singled out the necessity of assuring a permanent and regular maintenance of these facilities starting from the elementary tasks like the cleaning up of the sewage on the roadsides until the consolidation of the grounds by planting trees, especially in the steep and sloppy regions.
- M Amar Ghoul has also indicated that the existing maintenance units across the country will be supplied with modern and specific equipment to fit the geographical features of each region.
- In addition, a robust budget has been alloted to train a workers to carry out these tasks.
