6 million passengers across Algerian land, sea and air borders
More than 6 million passengers including 173,000 foreigners crossed Algeria’s different border centres in January-June 2017, according to borders police.
Police units facilitated security procedures for 6,528,775 passengers across all the borders crossing points on either land, sea or air. Of them, there were 1,736,849 passengers of foreign nationality.
A release issued by the National Police Department said 389,774 passengers passed by air, 2,452,237 by land and 182,764 by sea.
Security procedures were facilitated as part of the National Police department’s endeavour to improve public services for passengers. They also came upon request from the National Police Chief Abdelghani Hamel to provide crossing point with all the suitable conditions, the released added.
Sepaking about Haj, the same source said security forces continue facilitating procedures for pilgrims. Procedures have been facilitated for more than 20,500 pilgrims since the first travel which was organized on August 6th.
