An Algerian family of 70 members living in Lebanon renewed their call on the foreign minister Ramtane Lamamra to intervene and end their suffering. They are deprived of their Algerian documents such as passeports, identity cards and birth certificates.

The Algerian nationals called on authorities to investigate why the Algerian embassy in Lebanon refused to renew their passport.

They say the embassy does not want to send their applications to Algiers as their old passports expired.

“We do not understand why does the embassy refuse to give us passeports and identity cards,” the family’s representative Mohamed Nouar told Echorouk on the phone.

“They told us an official at the Algerian foreign ministry should intervene to transfer our applications from the embassy in Lebanon to Algeria,” he added.
