8 gendarmes injured in a terror bomb attack on border with Niger

8 national gendarmerie officials were injured on Monday following the explosion of a road bomb near border with Niger.

Security sources told Echorouk that this attack has likely been perpetuated by a terror group pertaining to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM).

The injured security officials were evacuated to a near hospital to get medical treatment, while National Army forces have launched a wide combing operation to track down the terrorists.

The border line of Algeria with Sahel countries, including Mali and Niger, witnesses increasingly activities of terrorists and smuggle gangs.

 Algeria has been warning from the terror threat facing Sahel countries, where several terror acts have been perpetuated, including the kidnapping of foreign nationals to claim ransoms.
