Algeria: New prices, locations and time-frame for achievement of promotional public housing
The Ministry of housing, town planning and the city has wrapped up the necessary procedures regulating the price, the location and the time-span for the achievement of its newly-devised program related to promotional public housing earmarked for another section of Algerian citizens eager to acquire such housing units as part of this special housing program.
A recent government decree was issued regulating all aspects linked to the achievement of this housing program notably by determining the price per square meter and the deadline set for the construction of these new housing units destined to average or high income earners among the Algerian population.
The General Manager of the relevant housing agency, Amar Kelati, told Echorouk that his services received by the end of last October over 42 thousand application files, adding that the registration process was still underway across the various provinces of the country.
He also affirmed that the relevant files would be processed in the housing agencies located in the municipalities of Ouled Fayet, Bab Ezzouar and Aïn Naâdja in Algiers.
A first batch of 35 thousand accommodation-seeking citizens, have already paid off the first advance sum of 5 hundred thousand dinars to seal their application files, he said.
This promotional public housing program initiated by the housing ministerial department is now underway in 35 wilayas or provinces of the country.
The housing Ministry has set a deadline for the building companies concerned to wind up the project within 24 to 26 months with the official delivery of these new housing units, worth between 640 and 900 million centimes (DA), expected by the end of the year 2016.
