Abderrazak Makri: “Amending the constitution to extend the presidential term is a farce”

MSP is not able to imagine that Algeria will become a comic scene, and the constitution will be amended to extend the presidential term, calling on the army to be committed to neutrality and not between the parties, because that will make the country’s stability at risk, Head of MSP movement, Abderrazzak Makri said.

“Benflis was reserved on the political reform initiative that was launched by MSP, although he welcomed it.”

Political changes that have taken place on the political scene did not push MSP to change its political agenda, that was initiated by the president, Abderrazzak Makri, as soon as he took the lead by launching a political initiative called “Charter of Political Reform”, although he appears less enthusiastic compared to the beginning of the announcement of the initiative, during the press symposium which he organized on Wednesday at the headquarters of the party, to provide a comprehensive assessment on a series of political consultations which he led, and that has touched the  loyal leaders of political parties and from the opposition like RCD, and personalities including Ben FLIS and Ben Bitour, as well as the historic leadership of the FIS party, which showed the insistence of parties in power on “instant decisions which are not ready for the initiatives”, compared to welcoming the opposition, declaring on the engagement in a third round of political consultations, will include trade unions and non-governmental organizations.
