Libya impressed by Algeria's Gendarmerie Expertise in Fighting Crime

Libyan Interior Minister Fawzi Abdel Aal expressed a keen interest in the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie in bouchaoui (Algiers).

 The Libyan minister, during his visit to the Institute Wednesday afternoon, shows an urgent desire of Tripoli to benefit from the experience of Algeria in the field of national gendarmerie and ‭ ‬ security ‭.

The Libyan Interior Minister Fawzi Abdel-Aal, visited the various departments, wards and laboratories of the National Institute of Criminal Evidence and Criminology, and was accompanied by Algeria Interior Minister Dahou Ould Kablia, the Major General Ahmed Bustila, also Commander of the National Gendarmerie, and the Major General Abdel-Ghani Hamel, Director-General of the National Security, ‭ ‬as the Libyan ‭ ‬ Minister ‭ ‬ insisted on ‭ ‬ explaining ‭ ‭ the nature of ‭ ‬ coordination between ‭ ‬ the ‭ ‬ work of ‭ ‬ gendarmerie ‭ ‭ ‬ and the other national Security services ‭ ‬ ‭.

‬The Libyan minister acknowledged the failure of the policy of judicial experience by the previous libyan regime, which relied on private experts , and made every crime in an independent department. The Libyan minister had the impression that the experience of the gendarmerie of Algeria will have a strong presence in the new Libya, especially since the Libyan minister was impressed by the way the center of criminal evidence and the fight are conducted against crime and the modern means and methods adopted within the Institute.

The Algerian Institute of Forensic Evidence and Criminology of the National Gendarmerie contains 916 modern scientific equipments, 31 laboratories  for criminal evidence, 98 judicial experts and 18 laboratories of Criminology, in addition to the database that provides daily fresh data for the various operations and investigations, and collaborations with many bodies of investigations in different countries, like the Federal Bureau of Investigation “FBI”, and the Spanish Civil Guard “Guardia civil” and the Italian gendarmerie “Carabinieri” and the Turkish gendarmerie “Jandarma Genel Komutanlığı” and others.
