The Two Kidnapped Chinese Workers Freed in Annaba Protetsts

Anti riot forces have arrested dozens of protesters and freed two Chinese workers who were abducted at their compound in the locality of Sidi Achour, in Annaba province, 600 km west of the capital Algiers.

The locality of Sidi Achour witnessed the spark of riots a couple of days ago, to demand housing, before clashing with anti riot forces, which arrested some of them.  Later on, a group of angry protesters kidnapped two Chinese nationals working in the area, and proposed to exchange them with their arrested mates. 

The police forces have first released some protesters who were arrested earlier, as a guarantee to the kidnappers, who released the Chinese hostages in exchange. 

And after securing the two Chinese nationals, the police forces performed a surprising raid on the neighborhoods of El-Fekharine and Sidi Harb, where seven youngsters, involved in the kidnapping, were arrested. 

The two liberated Chinese workers looked well as they have not been mistreated during their 48 hour abduction, well informed source said.
