AQIM’s main Explosives Stores found by Security Forces east of Algiers

Algiers- Security forces found a large workshop for manufacturing and storing explosives in the forest of Sid Ali Bouneb east of Boumerdes (54 km east of Algiers).

The Algerian forces retrieved a large quantity of explosives that were stored by Droukdel’s fellows in order to use them in suicide bombings.

According to Echorouk sources, the security forces launched the combing operations in the regions of Boumerdes, Tziz Ouzou and Bouira, east of Algiers, after receiving information about the existence of an underground store in these regions and near Nasiriah, and then launched an intensified search to discover two stores close to a large forestry field, and after the raid they found that the first store contained a huge quantity of TNT used in manufacturing bombs.

The same forces also found 300 kg of explosives hidden within 12 iron barrels with a capacity of 100 liters, and other materials used in manufacturing explosives, while they found car bombs in the second store, prepared for carrying out suicide attacks.

The same sources added that the iron barrels contained modern made explosives, which confirm the hypothesis of car trafficking by terrorists.

Information by Echorouk close sources shows that the workshop that was found by Algerian forces was, during the past two years, a major base in the process of preparing car bombings, and storing live ammunition, given that the site links a few routes controlled by security forces, and leading directly to the borders with Tizi Ouzou and through Mizrana Forest.

Security forces said that the ammunition is likely to be smuggled AQIM’s back up cells.
